Last night, I painted my Bible with the scripture 2 Corinthians 3:17, which says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” This verse has become my anchor in this season. Saying that His word has power doesn’t fully capture its truth.
His words are the foundation of my salvation, silencing the lies about who I was and confirming who I am in Christ. They guide my steps in alignment with truth, offering wisdom on when to hold on and when to let go. His words calm the storm within me and keep me from stumbling. Most importantly, they remind me that because His Spirit is with me, I am free—free from bitterness, unforgiveness, sin, loneliness, and everything else that contradicts His word.
Although I struggle like everyone else, His words free me from condemnation and help me move forward as He continues His work in me. The power of His word is filled with grace, and even though I am unworthy, He grants it to me abundantly. This understanding isn’t just from reading scripture but from experiencing its truth in my life.
Today, my best friend Hilary sent me the song “Lord, I Need You” by Matt Maher and shared a word reminding me of the scripture I’ve been holding onto. Reflecting on the power of His word today, I am reminded of the strength it gives me to walk the path He has prepared for me.
